Beatrice E. Taylor of Alexandria, Virginia, is a museum and management consultant. She is Principal of Taylor & Associates, a museum education and management consulting firm, has 29 years of senior leadership experience in museums and other cultural organizations. She is a former teacher and professor and a former docent at the Smithsonian Institution who holds a Ph.D. in Art History/Program Development and Museum Evaluation from George Mason University and a Master of Education from Wayne State University. In addition to her consulting business, she has been an Assistant Professor of Museum Education at George Washington University and is familiar with the Smithsonian Libraries’ Museum Reference Center collection. Dr. Taylor was instrumental in the development of Port Discovery, the children’s museum in Baltimore, as both a staff member and Board member, and has excellent fundraising and strategic planning skills.
